Book 1: The Forest of the Werewolf
One dark night in Switzerland, two little boys lived in a cottage near the forest. They had cattle. Every night they locked the stables. But then two days later they started hearing howling from the forest. And then the next morning the stable doors were broken down. And there were three sheep skeletons on the floor and blood sprawled on the ground. The grass was dripping with blood because of the sheep. It was night. This time they got new cattle and they bolted it shut. The next morning they woke up. The doors were broken but the sheep were still there. They went on a walk into the forest. It was dangerous because it was night and it was a full moon. But then when the full moon started to rise, a hideous sight came into view. Two red eyes. Blood dripping fangs. Yes, this was it. The werewolf that had been stealing the cattle. They were panic-stricken but when they started to run, the werewolf jumped in front of them and started tearing at their clothes. Til this day, no one has ever gone into the forest again, so they call it the Forest of Doom
Book 2: The Hare that Came from the Black Hat
One fine day in Switzerland there was a boy who had an obsession of magic. He tried to do magic tricks every day. But he always failed. Always. And he always said to his mom and dad, when I grow up I will be a great magician. The days went by. He was a teenager now. But one day he got out his wand and his black hat and he started waving it over the hat. Abracadabra. A hare came out. But this was no ordinary hare. The hare had big front teeth that looked razor sharp. But all of a sudden the hare grew as big as a kangaroo and started to run out of the house. But before the boy could say something the hare was gone. The boy didn’t know what to do. But he just relaxed and went to sleep. At dawn he woke up very very early and got up and watched some TV. But the boy was unaware that the hare was coming, bounding to the house. Minute by minute, the thumps of the hare’s great big paws got louder and louder. But all of a sudden it started raining and lightning came. And when it struck it showed two red eyes and white ears and big ears and razor sharp teeth and a hammer. A blood red hammer with a skull on the front. And before the boy could say a word, the hare broke down the door. It was too late. The boy started to scream but it was already too late. The hare had smashed him, bit by bit. And that’s the story of the hare that came from the black hat. And from that day people never ever tried to make hares appear from a hat again. And you never know if you try to do magic, be careful what you try to do.
Book 3: The Sea Monster that Destroyed Clam Harbor
One fine day in Clam Harbor there was a boy. He always liked to go out to the sea and fish for big salmon. But every time he was scared because he believed in sea monsters because his mom and dad had showed him a photograph of one. But every time he went out to fish, he never saw a sea monster. Never. Could this be real or a myth? Could that photograph that mom showed me be real? One night I’ll have to prove it. But one night he went out. He crept out of bed and got the old rowboat and went out in the deep end of the ocean. Then the sea monster started nodding his head. But then before the boy could say what, the sea monster had went under the water and broke the boat. And nothing was left of the boy. In the morning when his parents found out they were panic-struck. And they went out to sea and they got out the rowboat and went in the deep part. All they saw of their son was bones and blood. And til this day on, no one has ever gone into the deep area in the ocean. So if you ever go in the deep part, don’t go looking for sea monsters. And that’s all the advice I could give you. For more information, read all the other books. And then Series 2 will be revealed.

These are priceless! I enjoy the varied sentence structure, the sophisticated word choice, and the strong author's voice! I'm no expert in 7-year old storytelling, but I can tell you that his story telling is more sophisticated than many of my Juniors! His stories seem to instinctively follow Freytag's Pyramid of plot development(rising action, climax, denouement. He is obviously still reading voraciously -- good readers understand how good stories are told! I'm so proud!!!!!
Thanks! I've been looking forward to Uncle English Teacher and Literature and Writing Scholar's critique!!
